Twenty-nine years later,
the tradition continues...

The Burnaby Canadians FC was founded
in 1976. Originally formed as the Wesburn Senior Soccer Club, the club changed it's name
to the Burnaby Canadians Football Club in 1998 and has become one of the largest and most
successful clubs in British Columbia. |

The club was built upon a strong
tradition laid in West Burnaby of active participation in youth soccer over many years.
With such a
sound base, the Senior teams soon made their mark in the Vancouver Metro Senior League and
was subsequently asked to become a founding member of the Pacific Coast Soccer League.Of
the many highlights in the clubs history, the most memorable are the winning of the 94/95
Imperial Cup and the 1995 tour of SouthWest England, in which the team won 5 of 6 matches
against professional U.K. teams.
In the past few year's we have won three National
Championships (Women's, U14 Boys, and U16 Boys)
and numerous Provincial Cups.

A major part of our program over the years has been our tournaments, which have been
successful both financially as well as competitively. We have hosted a total of
25
tournaments over the past 14 years, the most successful of which is the yearly
Masters International Tournament held every Labour
Day Weekend. This year was no
exception as we hosted close to 50 teams in brilliant sunshine on 8 fields of action.
On behalf of the Burnaby Canadians Football Club, we would like to thank all of the past
and present Executive, Board members and workers who have made the club a success over the
years.
Keith Carter, Dick Fryatt
Co-Chairmen .
